About the event

Purchase a trail sheet from the Visitor Centre and Gift Shop and follow the Gruffalo Trail to find all 9 doors along our Christmas Door Hunt Trail.

Look for the house numbers and find the hidden letters hidden behind the doors to spell out the Christmas word. There is also an elf to find near each door!

Price £4 and includes quiz sheet, pencil, and small prize on completion.

  • The trail is aimed predominantly at children aged 2 to 6 years but is great fun for all the family, and the quiz sheet is for 4 years and up.
  • The trail is approximately 1 mile/1.5 km long and follows compact stone paths, so manageable for little legs, pushchairs and buggies.

Mobility

Our Christmas Door Hunt Trail follows the route of the Gruffalo Trail and is approximately 1 mile long. It follows easy access paths with hard surfacing which are suitable for electric mobility vehicles (EMVs) such as Trampers and pushchairs.

There are two Trampers available to hire for 2-3 hours at a time in return for a suggested donation of £5. These can be booked in advance or you can take a chance and pop in to the visitor centre on the day of your visit to check availability.
