WildPlay Thinks Differently
We are delighted to share the news that we are developing our programme connecting children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) to nature through nature based play and new experiences. The programme, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, will run over twelve months starting from October 2025 and will reach as many as 30 children with SEN. .
About the Programme
For many children and young people with SEN, accessing affordable activities that support their needs can be a challenge. We know that spending time in nature is beneficial to mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. Through this programme there will be opportunities to making new friends and socialise with others, have fun in nature, learn new skills, try new things, and build confidence. All done through self-directed activities in a natural and safe setting led by our experienced WildPlay nature rangers.
We are offering sessions in 6 week blocks, running for 2 hours per week. Our first block is for 8-12 year olds and starts on 3rd November. Groups will be kept small for maximum interaction and support.
