About the event

The Gruffalo Trail features six, larger-than-life sculptures of characters from the ever-popular books created by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler: Mouse, Fox, Snake, Owl, the Gruffalo and the Gruffalo's Child. Walk the trail for free or purchase a quiz activity sheet from the Queenswood gift shop for an extra layer of fun. Price includes quiz sheet and trail map, pencil, and small prize and sticker on completion.

  • The trail is open all year-round.
  • The trail is aimed predominantly at children aged 2 to 6 years but is great fun for all the family, and the quiz sheet is for 4 years and up.
  • The trail is approximately 1 mile/1.5 km long and follows compact stone paths, so manageable for little legs, pushchairs and buggies.

We are currently offering a range of Quiz activity sheets, available from the Visitor Centre. The answers to all the Quiz questions can be found along the trail. Complete all four quiz sheets to receive a Gruffalo certificate!
