Adopt a Tree at Queenswood Arboretum
What Type of Tree can I Adopt?
At Queenswood you can choose to adopt a mature tree or occasionally, one of a very small number of saplings when they are purchased for winter planting.
It costs £350 for a straight forward tree adoption where you choose the tree yourself. This fee includes a tree post if a new or replacement post is needed, a tree label complete with space for a short dedication, an entry in the online tree database, Queenswood Treefinder, and a 10 year Tree Guarantee.
Commissioned by Queenswood Coronation Fund, Queenswood Treefinder is a database of the specimen trees in the Arboretum’s collection which you can use to help you search for and select a tree for adoption. You can search for trees by botanical name, common tree name or tree number, and you can use the interactive mapping feature to choose a tree by location.
Please note that Queenswood is a maturing arboretum and for this reason there are very few young saplings now planted on site; this is to allow the older specimens space to flourish and achieve their full potential.

We will send you an application form, a link to Queenswood Treefinder along with information on how to use the database to its full advantage, and some example tree dedication labels.
If you need help choosing a tree, we can do that too, for example, if you live a long way away we can send you photos of your shortlist of up to three trees, or we can choose a tree for you - these services, including the adoption cost £500.
The money raised from tree adoptions goes to Queenswood Coronation Fund and Herefordshire Wildlife Trust. It is used to purchase new saplings, tree guards to protect specimen trees, tree dedication posts as well as tree removal, stump grinding and other woodland management tasks.
Queenswood Treefinder is owned by Queenswood Coronation Fund and is populated with tree information by Herefordshire Wildlife Trust who also use it as a management tool.
