Introduction to Safeguarding (children and adults at risk)

A two hour session which will cover an introduction to both Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults at risk. This course has been designed for staff and volunteers requiring general awareness, or are new to Safeguarding. It is essential for all volunteers who will regularly engage with children or Adults at Risk during their volunteering.

Outline of the session:

  • Be familiar with the context for Safeguarding
  • Understand why it’s important we raise any concerns we have about people
  • Feel confident in understanding signs and possible indicators of abuse or neglect
  • Be able to raise a concern with the people who can help
  • Understand why it is important we work with other agencies such as social care, the police and health to share information and keep people safe
