Finance & Operations Team
The Finance and Operations team manage our HR, buildings maintenance, health and safety and venue hire as well as overseeing all our transactions, budgets, assets and audit.
Head of Finance -Â Matthew Whereat
Matthew is a Chartered Management Accountant and is a Fellow of the ACCA. Before joining the Trust in June 2025 he worked in several senior finance roles within charitable, public and private sectors.
As Head of Finance, he provides strategic leadership and financial advice to drive effective and efficient delivery of the Trust's mission and purposes.
Outside work, he enjoys long nature walks and bike rides with his family, and is a keen sports and music fan.

Over the years I’ve worked with Charities, Community groups, Starts-ups and Corporates in the UK and overseas. I’ve a strong background in operational planning, business administration, streamline processes and looking after people and resources. I am committed to supporting staff and providing a supportive and inclusive working environment. Passionate about wildlife and community involvement, I love gardening, hiking and being outdoors.

After many years in a Finance, I am thrilled to take on the role of Finance Officer, to further my experience in the charity sector and gain new accounting skills. I am AAT qualified and will apply this expertise to my role every day. Having moved to Herefordshire in 2024, my family are I (and several pets) are now very settled in this beautiful county!
