About the reserve

This reserve is split into eight separate fragments of Dymock Forest, an ancient woodland. Dymock Forest is an outstanding site for fauna and flora. It is extremely rich in moths and butterflies. Over 470 species have been recorded here, including many local and national rarities. A number of species are known only in Queen's Wood (not to be confused with Queenswood Country Park near Leominster!) and nowhere else in Herefordshire.
