About the event

On Thursday April 15th at 7 pm,  City Branch will host David Lovelace, landscape and mapping historian, who will give a presentation on how Hereford City and its surrounding countryside has developed over the last 400 years to the present.

He explains: "Current digital techniques can display and analyse the huge resource of historic maps, manuscripts, aerial photographs and LIDAR to reveal the underlying heritage, landscape and biodiversity of the city and its countryside context. The presentation will show how making these resources freely available online will help frame strategic planning for beneficial future development of Hereford’s unique character. These techniques can easily be extended to the entire county."

Free event; donations towards the work of Herefordshire Wildlife Trust most welcome.
