Join nature reserves officer Rosie Wilson and nature recovery officer Toby Fountain for a day at Church Wood, conducting our first surveys to see exactly what wildlife calls this home!

Church Wood is a part of a larger woodland which also encompasses our Lea & Paget's Wood Nature Reserve which adjoins Church Wood. We are currently fundraising to purchase this site to extend the nature reserve.

We are conducting a winter Bioblitz, walking around the site to spot and record as many species as possible from plants and fungi to insects and birds - and anything in between!

The day is open to anyone to join in (although parking will limit numbers so early booking is essential) - no knowledge, skills or experience necessary.

Identification apps can be really useful so do download anything you would like to use in advance.

All records will be collated at the end of the day and shared with the Herefordshire Biological Records Centre as well as kept for our own records. Will we carry out another Bioblitz in the summer.

Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by and supervised by a parent or carer.

We will be outside all day so please come dressed for the weather and bring all hot drinks, snacks and lunch that you need.

Please note that there are no loos or handwashing facilities on site.
