Discovery Day and Annual General Meeting
, Hereford, Herefordshire, HR2 6HE
About the event
Herefordshire Wildlife Trust invites supporters, volunteers, members, and the local community to an exciting Discovery Day, a unique opportunity to learn about the Trust's wide-ranging projects, campaigns, and efforts to restore nature across the county. This event includes our Annual General Meeting (AGM) as well as offering a chance to explore the Trust’s achievements, future goals, and how our collective work is making a real difference for wildlife in Herefordshire.
Throughout the day, various stalls will showcase the activities of our branches, project teams, and services such as our retail offerings, Nature Action Network, and land advice initiatives. Whether you are interested in specific species conservation, habitat restoration, or community engagement, there will be something for everyone.
For those with a green thumb, we are thrilled to host a Gardeners' Question Time, where you can engage directly with our volunteers on all things related to wildlife-friendly gardening. Our "Ask the Expert" drop-in sessions will provide an informal space to seek advice or share your experiences with conservation professionals. Interactive activities like our fun quiz stand and raffle ensure there's plenty of variety throughout the day!
The Discovery Day features a series of short, bookable talks on a range of topics designed to delve deeper into our projects and conservation work. These talks, hosted by our project leads, are a fantastic way to learn about our future plans and the broader environmental challenges we face in Herefordshire.
Our AGM, held in the main hall, will allow members to engage in governance matters and hear directly from trustees about the past year's successes and future objectives. The day will culminate in an evening panel discussion: How do we recover nature in Herefordshire? This discussion will bring together some of Herefordshire’s leading conservation stakeholders to explore practical solutions to the urgent need for nature recovery across the county.
You are welcome to join us for the whole event or just attend one part of the day. Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
