The Nature, Nurture, Nourish project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. The projects fund staff time and resources to ensure all volunteers can receive a greater level of support and training from staff at the Trust and more volunteering opportunities will be made available.

Nextdoor Nature empowers people to take action for nature where they live! Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to leave a lasting natural legacy in honour of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Nextdoor Nature will give people the skills, tools, and opportunity to help wildlife flourish near them.

Herefordshire Wildlife Trust's Nature Action Team deliver outreach WildPlay activity sessions within local communities, run Adventure Clubs in the school holidays and Wildlife Watch groups every month. For younger nature enthusiasts they provide Nature Tots sessions and for adults they run a wellbeing group at the Queenswood Forest Garden and offer training courses through the Building Better Opportunities Scheme. Their Team Wilder programme sees them supporting independent groups and individuals to act for nature on their patch and the Nature Action Team also provide core support and facilitation for our volunteering opportunities.

Ways that your school can take action for nature with Herefordshire Wildlife Trust

Herefordshire Wildlife Trust's Nature Recovery Team manages habitat restoration projects across the county and advocates for wildlife through a multitude of forums including the Local Nature Partnership and Nutrient Management Board.
The reserves team oversee the management of 60 nature reserves, helped in no small part by our work party volunteers and voluntary wardens. As well as practical habitat management to keep our sites in optimum condition, they tussle with Rural Payment Agency funding claims; scheduling in graziers and contractors and keeping sites accessible to the public.

If you are 16-25 and want to get stuck into practical conservation tasks, learn something new, deepen your connection to nature and make new friends, then why not join our monthly Saturday Young Nature Rangers. We alternate our meetings between our reserves, Queenswood Country Park near Leominster and Bartonsham Meadows in Hereford.
