Hiring the Barn at Birches Farm Nature Reserve

The Barn at Birches was built in 2019 and replaces the old barn which once stood on this spot. Designed to complement the other buildings and dwellings on the site, the barn has a good-sized main room which is suitable for workshops, meetings, classes or exhibitions. Large patio doors ensure the room is light and airy and they look out on to a sheltered landscaped garden area. There is a small kitchen within the main room and, along the corridor, a toilet.

The nature reserve itself is open all year to walk around, with the wildflowers at their best in May and June.

Location: Birches Farm Nature Reserve, Nr Kington, HR5 3EY

Directions: Leaving Hereford on the A438, continue onto the A4111 through Eardisley towards Kington. Follow this road through Eardisley and up the hill. After a left hand sign to Chickward, the road bends to the right hand side and you will see the farmhouse and farm buildings on your right. If you pass a brown sign to the Small Breeds Animal Centre then you’ve gone too far!

Main Room Dimensions: 36 square metres

Furniture: 4 tables; 12 chairs

Kitchen: The kitchen area is within the main room. It is equipped with a sink and kettle and stocked with cups and saucers and cutlery.

Facilities: There is one lavatory.

Exhibitions: professional hanging rail is installed around the whole of the main room. The walls are plain, just off-white and lighting is ideal for wall-hung exhibitions.

Parking: space for 10 cars

Please note, there is no wi-fi at this site.

Costs: Hire costs are £50 per half day; £65 full day, inclusive of VAT. For exhibitions, there is no hire charge for the room, rather commission on sales is 30%.
