  Herefordshire Wildlife Trust launch Reconnecting our Riverscapes fundraising appeal through the Big Give’s Green Match Fund

We’re very excited to let you know that Herefordshire Wildlife Trust will be fundraising for our ‘Reconnecting our Riverscapes appeal through the Big Give’s Green Match Fund.

The appeal runs from the 18th to the 25th April during which time every donation made to our appeal via BigGive.org will be DOUBLED! 
 
So, whatever you can give, no matter the size, every donation will make double the difference in supporting us to reconnect our riverscapes. The money raised through our Reconnecting our Riverscapes appeal will support us, in collaboration with others, to create, or restore, areas of habitat in both rural and urban areas, that together create a network of wildlife corridors to enable species to survive and thrive in our county. 

  1. To link habitats across farmland, we will work with landowners, providing guidance and supporting with surveying and monitoring. 

  1. To link habitats across villages and towns, we will work with communities and businesses through our Nature Action Network, providing guidance and training. 

  1. We will provide volunteering opportunities, support and training to upskill and empower more people to take action for nature 

  1. We will continue to map habitats and species distribution across the county. We will promote our citizen science wildlife recording website and provide guidance and training for the public to use it 

The collective impact of these actions will be a better-connected landscape for wildlife in the Lugg Valley and Hereford City through habitat creation and restoration and through more people trained and supported to take action for nature. 

   

Notes:

Reconnecting our Riverscapes funding will support the Trust to create and connect wildlife habitats along the River Lugg and Yazor Brooks by supporting and advising landowners in practical management, expanding our Nature Action Network, recruiting and supporting volunteers and promoting our wildlife recording scheme. Reconnecting our Riverscapes (biggive.org)
