We’ll be surveying the playing field boundaries, banks of the brook and the adjacent meadow to gather information to support future plans. This will allow us consider ideas such as increasing tree and shrub planting along the western border, widening the stream banks to increase on-line storage during periods of high flow as well as planting of water tolerant plants. Join Herefordshire Wildlife Trust in undertaking a riverfly survey. One of our Riverfly Monitors will collect a sample of aquatic invertebrates from the Yazor Brook and explain how to identify 8 groups of riverfly. This data feeds into the Riverfly Partnership and the Environment Agency’s knowledge of our local rivers and their health, whilst also being an important tool to detect pollution incidents. Family friendly.
