Online Talk: Climate Change, Eco-Church and Chaplaincy with Nick Read
About the event
Borderlands Rural Chaplaincy is a church-based initiative that helps provide support to the farming community, focussed on Shropshire and Herefordshire. The Chaplaincy also plays a role in addressing climate change and the ecological crisis, working with faith groups through the Eco-Diocese initiative, through participation in Herefordshire Green Network, Farm Herefordshire and the Local Nature Partnership, and through its national links. The talk will explain the background to the chaplaincy, the current priorities and the planning that is taking place for a post-Brexit future.
Nick Read is an Anglican Priest and a Chaplain with Borderlands. He was formerly the Food Policy & Research Adviser to the National Farmers Union and has worked in Hereford Diocese (Herefordshire and South Shropshire) for over twenty year). He is also the Director of the Brightspace Foundation, a Sustainable Development Charity focused on Herefordshire.
