Queenswood Heritage Open Day
About the event
The Heritage Open Day event will celebrate the Queenswood Heritage Gateway Project that has been running throughout 2018-2019 at Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum.
There will be plenty to do and see, with horse drawn timber extraction demonstrations, green woodworking and activities for children throughout the day.
There will be the opportunity to go on a guided walk around the site where you can learn about the history and heritage of this interesting woodland site and how it came to be the Arboretum and Country Park that we know today. (Running between 10am and 3pm)
The Queenswood Heritage Gateway Project has funded practical improvements and new interpretations on site, as well as a programme of events and activities throughout the year. This event will mark the end of the project which was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
