'Bee or not to bee?'
Lower House Farm, Herefordshire Nature Trust
Sunday 22nd August 2010
1pm - 4pm
An inspiring awareness day providing you with vital information on how we can help to sustain the future of our much loved bumblebee!
Over the last few decades we have lost three species of bumblebee and more are critically endangered due to loss of habitat and intensive farming. This is why they need our help to provide the things they need most; nectar, provided by flower rich habitats and nesting sites.
During the event you can discover how to encourage bumblebees into your garden by participating in an enthusing talk on bumblebee ecology and wildlife gardening, pick up their favourite food plants from 'Plantwild' and make your own nest box to use at home. WILDPLAY will be getting creative and face painting, then later on join Lenny in the Orchard for a story. There will also be refreshments and other stalls to browse.
So come down, picnic by the river and learn how we can conserve the sound of the summer!
