WildPlay is a children’s play initiative based at Herefordshire Nature Trust. We run outreach, open access play sessions across the county, encouraging children of all ages and their families to come outside and enjoy their parks and green spaces! We strive towards giving children the opportunities to play that we had, the challenges that we set ourselves and the element of risk that all
children need and cherish. We offer children the opportunity to build dens, playing waterways, learn how to cook on a campfire, be creative, dress up and above all be free to play in the ways that they choose. We offer parents the opportunities to enjoy playing outdoors with their children, or to know that their children are supervised while playing with their friends in local green spaces. Through this we hope to foster a keen interest and love for the outdoors, natural history and environment.
WildPlay funding is coming to an end but we are applying for more to help us to support adults in local communities to learn how to support children’s outdoor play and to get a qualification along the way!
