Finance & Administration Officer (Full Time)

Salary: £20,000 per annum plus pension

Herefordshire Wildlife Trust is looking for a flexible, resourceful and efficient Finance & Administration Officer to support our busy resources team.

Herefordshire Wildlife Trust is the largest membership-based wildlife organisation in the area, dedicated to inspiring people about wildlife, acting as a wildlife champion, creating wildlife havens and encouraging sustainable living

At Herefordshire Wildlife Trust our vision is for “a Herefordshire that is richer and more diverse in wildlife and that is valued, and cared for, by its people to the benefit of all.” The Trust covers the county of Herefordshire and works closely with neighbouring Wildlife Trusts in England and Wales. The Trust is supported by nearly 5000 local members and manages 55 nature reserves.

We are a member of the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts, a federation of 46 Wildlife Trusts covering the whole of the British Isles, with over 800,000 members and more than 2,300 nature reserves covering 90,000 hectares.

We are looking for a flexible, resourceful and efficient Finance & Administration Officer to support our busy resources team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the workload is split between finance related activities and providing a broad and efficient administrative service to the Charity. The successful candidate will be responsible for day to day finance duties including Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger using SAGE 50 & Microsoft Office as well as day to day Administration including basic IT support. The balance of work will vary across the year and there maybe opportunities for progression.

Required skills and experience required:

  • significant experience working as a finance assistant, office administrator, or office manager,
  • effective communication skills (both written and verbal),
  • a strong attention to detail,
  • able to maintain confidentiality at all times,
  • be personable and professional for greeting customers and suppliers
  • be able to prioritise and manage a busy workload.
  • The successful candidate will preferably be AAT qualified and be looking for a busy, varied role to continue their career.
