Pond Dipping at the Grove

The Grove Educational Facility

As paart of the Pooling Together project, in 2016, we worked with Herefordshire Amphoibian & Reptile Team (HART) and the National Trust to create an educational shelter and dipping platform at The Grove pool, on the National Trust's Brockhampton Estate.

Pond Dipping

During the school holidays visitors are able to hire pond dipping kits from the visitor reception at Brockhampton Estate. Parking is in the main Brockhampton Estate visitor car park and Grove Pool is about a 45-60 minute walk but it's worth it.

School and community groups

During term time school and community groups are welcome to use the site free of charge. Parking is available in the woodland car park about 20 minutes’ walk from the Grove site.

Pond dipping kits can be hired and will require pre-booking. Ranger led tours and activities can also be arranged at the cost of £250 per half day.

Schools and local groups can also borrow sets of the dipping equipment from  Brockhampton Primary School (01885 483238), by prior arrangement through the school. This is especially useful if you are planning to visit more of the restored pools on Bromyard Downs.
